• Cut the end of the filament off at a sharp angle so the tip is pointed
  • Carefully straighten out at least the last inch of the filament out (PLA can be brittle).
  • Make sure the extruder has been preheated and up to temperature for the filament you are using (ABS vs PLA / PET)
  • Feed the filament in with the idler arm depressed (so that the v-groove bearing helps guide the filament to line it up with the hole). You should feel when it goes into the bottom hole and starts to have a little resistance. Feed just a little more by hand so you are sure the filament has been inserted into the hole correctly. You should see a little filament come out of the extruder nozzle.
